TCIM Licensure Qualification & Experience Requirements

Path 1: Standard Degree

Qualifications: BSc of Acupuncture Medicine (minimum five (5) years full-time course duration including internship).

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification in related field.

Path 2: Accredited Program / NCCAOM

Qualifications: Accredited Acupuncture program (minimum Two (2) years full-time duration) or part-time equivalent with a minimum of 2500 teaching hours / Certification from National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) or equivalent body.

Experience: Three (3) years of experience post qualification in related field.

Path 3: Licensed Physician Route

Qualifications: Licensed Physician privileged to practice Acupuncture with Certification from an Accredited Acupuncture training program (minimum of 800 hours / or one (1) year course duration).

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification in related field.

Path 1: Professional Degree (BAMS)

Qualifications: Professional bachelor's degree of Indian medicine - Ayurveda (BAMS - Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) or equivalent of minimum five (5) years full-time duration including internship (Comprising of a minimum of 4500 hours of classroom theory and practical sessions and 1000 hours of internship training).

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Path 2: Accredited Program

Qualifications: Accredited Ayurveda Medicine program over a three to four (3-4) years full time/equivalent, comprising a minimum of 2500 hours (classroom theory and practical sessions) followed by 500 hours of supervised internship training.

Experience: Four (4) years of experience post qualification.

Path 3: Licensed Physician Route

Qualifications: Physician privileged to practice Traditional Indian Medicine with an accredited full-time Ayurveda training program comprising of a minimum of two professional examinations and at least 1500 hours (classroom theory and practical sessions) followed by 500 hours of supervised clinical training.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Qualifications

Minimum Five Hundred (500) hours of classes or One (1) year duration course in Ayurveda Massage.

Path 1: Doctor of Chiropractic

Qualifications: A BSc of Chiropractic – Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C), honors degree or undergraduate, master's or equivalent of minimum four (4) years full-time duration with minimum 4200 student/teacher contact hours.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Path 2: Licensed Physician Route

Qualifications: Physician privileged to practice Chiropractic with Accredited Chiropractic training program of minimum 1800 hours over a two or three (2 or 3) years full time or part-time program including minimum 1000 hours of supervised clinical experience.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Path 1: Professional Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications: Professional bachelor's degree of Herbal Medicine/Oriental Medicine from an accredited program of a minimum of four (4) years, including internship.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Path 2: Licensed Physician Route

Qualifications: Physician privileged to practice Herbal Medicine with an accredited full-time training program comprising of a minimum of two professional examinations and at least 1500 hours (classroom theory and practical sessions) followed by 500 hours of supervised clinical training.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Path 1: Bachelor's Degree (BHMS)

Qualifications: Professional Bachelor's degree of Homeopathy (BHMS - Bachelor in Homeopathic Medicine and surgery) / licentiate from an accredited Homeopathic program of minimum five (5) years including internship.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Path 2: Accredited Program Certification

Qualifications: To be certified from an accredited Homeopathy program (minimum three (3) years course duration).

Experience: Four (4) years of experience post qualification.

Path 3: Licensed Physician Route

Qualifications: Physician privileged to practice Homeopathy with Homeopathic program (minimum one (1) year course duration).

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Path 1: ND / BNYS Degree

Qualifications: BSc of Naturopathy (ND - Doctor of Naturopathy / BNYS - Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences) or equivalent of minimum of four (4) years course duration including supervised clinical training.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Path 2: Licensed Physician Route

Qualifications: Physician privileged to practice Naturopathy with Completing an accredited Naturopathic training program over two (2) years.
Or
Three (3) years full-time or part-time period of minimum 1000 hours, including minimum 400 hours of supervised clinical training.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Path 1: Degree of Osteopathy

Qualifications: Degree of Osteopathy (e.g. Diploma of Osteopathy (D.O), Bachelor of Osteopathic Medicine (B.Ost Med.) or BSc Hons. Osteopathy) or equivalent of minimum four (4) years course duration and minimum 1000 hours of supervised clinical training (internship).

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Path 2: Licensed Physician Route

Qualifications: Physician privileged to practice Osteopathy with an accredited Osteopathic Medicine program of minimum one (1) year full time or part-time equivalent of minimum 1000 hours including supervised clinical training.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Path 1: Bachelor's Degree (B.TCIM)

Qualifications: Degree of Traditional Chinese Medicine (B.TCIM - Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine) from a recognized University of a minimum of five (5) years full-time duration including one (1) year internship.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Path 2: Accredited TCM Program

Qualifications: An accredited Traditional Chinese Medicine Education program of three to four years full time or the equivalent of a minimum total of 2,400 hours (consisting of 1,500 hours of theory and laboratory/clinical practice and 900 hours of clinical practicum).

Experience: Four (4) years of experience post qualification.

Path 3: Licensed Physician Route

Qualifications: Physician privileged to practice Traditional Chinese Medicine with an accredited training program in TCM of two (2) - three (3) years full time or the equivalent of a minimum total of 1300 hours (Consisting of 800 hours of theory and laboratory/clinical practice and 500 hours of supervised clinical practicum).

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Qualifications

Three (3) years college Education or Secondary Vocational School Education of traditional Chinese medicine AND Minimum of one (1) year supervised clinical training internship.
(500) hours course of Chinese Massage and one (1) year supervised clinical internship.

Experience

Two (2) years of experience post qualification in related field.

Path 1: BUMS / BEMS Degree

Qualifications: Degree of Unani (BUMS - Bachelor in Unani Medicine and surgery / BEMS - Bachelor in Eastern Medicine and Surgery)
OR
(Diploma Frazil utTibbWalJarahat) or the equivalent of a minimum of four (4) years full-time, including supervised clinical practicum.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Path 2: Licensed Physician Route

Qualifications: Physician privileged to practice Unani with an accredited training program in Unani Medicine of two (2) years full time or part-time equivalent of a minimum total of 1500 hours (theory and practical) followed by 750 hours of supervised training in a hospital or recognized medical center.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.

Path 1: High School Diploma Route

Qualifications: High school degree and accredited certificate in Hijama (minimum of two (2) years course duration and includes in its curriculum the following: infection prevention and control, biology, and hematological diseases, and proof of completion of twenty (20) Hijama treatment cases as part of the training program).

Experience: Two (2) years of experience post qualification.
